The Deep Funding Community recently faced an unexpected setback with the planned community trip to Turkey. This event, which was to bring together members from Argentina, Europe, Nigeria, and Asia for a series of meetings and events in Istanbul, had been eagerly anticipated. The planning efforts, led by Judith Williams of the Marketing Circle, were thorough and aimed at fostering deeper connections within our global community.

However, despite the best efforts, the trip faced significant challenges. The slow pace of information and feedback from some interested members, coupled with the bureaucratic hurdles posed by the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria, ultimately forced the Deep Funding Team to make the difficult decision to cancel all plans for the trip.

In response to this development, Jan Horlings, the Chief Deep Funding Officer, convened a special all-hands meeting attended by nearly twenty circle members. The meeting provided a crucial opportunity for the community to come together, reflect on the situation, and show appreciation for Judith Williams’ hard work and dedication.

During the meeting, members took time to apologize for the challenges faced and to acknowledge the lessons learned from the experience.
